Journalist "The very Polyglot and very androgynous Brian Molko is currently one of the foremost candidates for being the new 90's icone, as Rock band Placebo's frontman and guitar player. From American origins, Brian knocked about the whole Europe. The bass player, Stefan Olsdal comes from Luxembourg, and the drummer Robert Schultzberg is a swedish american raised in Kenya and Switzland. Knowing that, we obvioulsy started this interview by asking Brian for an explanation about the band's genesis."

Brian "I was living in London, going to college, and I guess I was waiting to become a good guitarist enough, and a good compositor enough to be part of a band, and deserve people's attention."

Brian "When stefan was in Sweden, finishing school, he was in a band with Robert. We were looking for a drummer, and when we took the decision to stop fiddling about in studio to become a real live band and play punk-rock, we hired Robert. Robert was just here by accident, to study music in the same school as Stefan, so.. It was in October, 1994, and that's when everything really started."

Journalist "Placebo's first album has been incredibly praised by critics, even if journalists are now publicly wondering about Molko's real sexuality orientations, who, no surprises here, like to maintain some mystery about it."

Brian "Being in a band kind of like allows you to magnify some aspects of your personality, to exaggerate them excessively, till you obtain a dramatic effect. I guess by exposing myself on stage in a way that people wonder "So, is he one of them or not?", I guess it kinda challenges how men should look like and how they should act in the end of century. It just kinda opens things up a bit."

Journalist "Nobody will be surprised to know that Placebo's alternativ glam-rock is effective even with the 70's androgynous rock King, David Bowie. Placebo has already supported Bowie during his last tour, but how exactly is the relationship between delicate David and charming Brian?"

Brian "David and I talked a lot about music, and I know he's a Placebo's fan, and, you kow that makes me happy. When I was 15, I had every record of his and now he has mine. And he listens to them."
