PLACEBO GIGS - 26.05.2010

As MySpace have changed the layout of the 'my gigs' function and made it stupid I will no longer be posting a list of my gigs as it is too time consuming to fill in all the minute details for each and every show.. unsurprisingly, I don't always know the 'end time' and the 'postcode' of every venue we play in, which means I can't list the gig on this site now. Dumb. Do they want anyone to use this site anymore?

BUT all Placebo gigs can be found on the website

And info of other artists I'm working with can usually be found on my website

Staying mostly in familiar European territory this summer with a brace of fun festivals and gigs, and I'm going to Glastonbury for the first time ever! But this year I'm especially looking forward to visiting some places I've never been to before, including Tel Aviv (PicNic Festival 5th June), Beirut (9th June) then later on hopefully Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia.

I had a great time with Placebo in South America in April, particularly Buenos Aires and Lima - thank you to everyone I met there. And I spent an amazing weekend in New Orleans. What an incredible place, music, food and hilarity everywhere. And a fantastic art gallery too. Here are some random pics:

Santiago, Chile - committed fans patiently waiting outside the hotel. For DAYS. This is what you look like from inside the car! Don't you have jobs or homes to go to??? ;)

Sao Paulo skyline at sunset:

Lima, Peru Post-gig pool game. Steve & I were a winning team!

New Orleans French Quarter balconies:

I'm back in London enjoying a rare week or two off in unusually hot sunshine. The MOJO Honours list awards are coming soon and my dear friends on Bella Union records are nominated - Midlake in 'Best Live Act' and John Grant in 'Best Breakthrough Act'. Please vote if you want to support them!

And finally, a blast from the past.. check out my fiddling on this track with songwriter & author Anthony Reynolds. We recorded this in a basement studio in Notting Hill about 8 years ago with a man called Spike and some whiskey..there's an intro then the track "I will return to Memphis, with Eggleston as my guide":

and this weekend I'll be mostly watching Eurovision & laughing :)
